Named after one of the Gods of Fate in Chinese Mythology, the Shao Siming 少司命 Set brings you all the way back to the famed Warring States Period (475-221 BC).
Clothing of this period was luscious, ornate, and unisex by design. Consisting of multiple Zhiju 直裾 (straight hem robe) tied by wide belt around the waist.
Start with the inner Zhiju 直裾, made of deep cinnabar red jacquard fabric. Cuffs, collar, and hem feature a golden brocade trim with flying phoenixes and floral designs. Soft, comfortable, and perfect to wear as is during the summer months.
Add the outer Zhiju 直裾 of your choice! Available in light jade green or midnight black. Both color options feature a bold striped trim, a typical feature of high class Warring States Period due to the many strips of fabric needed to create these patterns. Base fabric contains swirls of jacquarded fruit and leafy patterns.
Big, baggy, and definitely comfortable, it's easy to see why these oversized robes were the clothing option of choice for centuries and centuries.
Finally, for extra drama, add the sheer outer Zhiju 直裾 layer. Choose from your color of choice: cloud white or midnight black. These sheer robes were originally made from single-thread silk and were a high status symbol due to the taxing creation methods needed. Feel free to mix & match with your inner robe of choice to add a light or dark veneer that shines in the light!
Tie it all together with the wide patterned belt (Dai 带) with dragon & phoenix designs. NOTE: this belt is constructed in the Warring States period design, meaning there is a central hole in the center and a belt buckle is needed.

CLEANING INFORMATION
Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. For ironing, please use lowest heat setting or steam out the wrinkles.
